What are the Eligibility Requirements for Advantage?
Employee Eligibility
All full-time (30 hours or more per week) W-2 employees with a base pay of $35,000 or more annually, and enrolled in a company sponsored health insurance plan or other qualifying health insurance policy in place are eligible for Advantage.
If an employee does not have health insurance, a Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) policy can be included. A minimum of 10 employees is required for the group MEC policy.Â
If an employee is on Medicaid, they are not eligible for Advantage.Â
Company Eligibility
Advantage is best implemented in a stable workforce with an annual turnover rate of 30% or less.Â
Companies with HR and Payroll professionals are well positioned to provide the required data.Â
A minimum of 15 enrolled employees is required.Â
Implementation Timeline
Expect the implementation period to last at least four weeks.
Why four weeks? The employer has to provide a employment information and payroll data for all employees. That typically takes a week. The two-week enrollment period is next. 360 turns around the received data in 48 hours or less. The next step is entering data into the employer’s payroll system and testing for accuracy. The total elapsed time is four weeks.Â
